Sandra Anne (Ingling) Goodbar, age 83 of Springfield, Ohio went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, June 27, 2026. Born August 9, 1942, in Springfield, Ohio, she was the only child of the late George E. and Thelma F. (Chaffin) Ingling. Left to cherish her memory is her beloved husband of 61 years, Jerry A. Goodbar, children; Jill (Donald) Bench, Joy (Brad) Canning, Jeff (Emily) Goodbar, and JeriAnn (Hinnerk) Wolters, grandchildren; Leah (Dan), Tori, Camryn (Levi), Ali, Andrew, Troy, Kalebe, Ross, Calvin, Wade, Kendall, Clint, and Christelle, great-grandson, Mason. Sandra is also survived by many close cousins and other extended family members.
Faith and salvation were the foundation of Sandra’s life and remained her guiding purpose through every season. Raised alongside her parents in the South Charleston United Methodist Church, she developed a deep and enduring love for God that shaped the woman she became. For more than 50 years, she faithfully attended Grape Grove Church of Christ, where her commitment to serving others reflected the heart of her faith. She found great joy in being the hands and feet of Christ through her work as a mission coordinator, her dedication to children’s ministries and Vacation Bible School, and her service with Linking Christians, an RV ministry that took her across the country helping at church camps. Serving others was never simply something she did—it was who she was, and her faith was always at the center of her life. She also devoted herself to serving as a 4-H advisor, taking pride in encouraging and guiding young people. A retired hospice nurse herself, Sandra enjoyed her monthly “Vintage” lunches with other retired hospice nurses.
Family was among her greatest blessings and brought immeasurable joy to her life. Sandra was an unwavering source of love, encouragement, and support to her children and grandchildren, taking great pride in all they pursued. Whether it was a school event, activity, performance, competition, or milestone, she was one of their biggest supporters and could always be counted on to be there. She drove countless miles without hesitation and never questioned the time or distance if it meant cheering on her grandchildren and sharing in the moments that mattered most to them.
Family and friends will be received on Thursday, July 2, 2026 from 11:00-2:00 PM at the Grape Grove Church of Christ, Jamestown. The funeral service will begin at 2:00 PM, also at the church. Sandra will be laid to rest at Greenlawn Cemetery, South Charleston immediately following the funeral service. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in Sandra’s honor to one of the following organizations that were very near and dear to her heart: Grape Grove Church of Christ, Butler Springs Christian Camp, International Disaster Emergency Service (IDES), or Mulberry International Resources. Arrangements entrusted to the Ingling Williams & Lewis Funeral Home. Online condolences may be expressed to the family by visiting www.jacksonlytle.com.
