Sandra L. (Pendleton) Feather Madewell

MADEWELL, Sandra L. (Pendleton) Feather, 76, of Springfield, passed away peacefully in her home on October 25, 2026. She was born on September 18, 1950, the daughter of Cecil and Helen (Wolfe) Pendleton.

Sandy was widely known for her many talents and vibrant creativity. Singing was a true passion of hers, whether she was performing as a member of various bands, participating in open mic nights, or hosting one of her karaoke gigs. She also stayed busy throughout the years with cake decorating, baking, and candy making, especially during the holidays. Her family and friends will fondly remember her wedding cakes, detailed custom cakes, homemade buckeyes, and chocolate-covered cherries just to name a few. An avid crafter, she enjoyed sewing and crafting right up until her final days, creating everything from wedding dresses, quilts and purses to her signature clay pot “critters.” Sandy spent most of her life sharing these unique talents with the world, leaving those who knew her with beautiful, lasting memories of her gifts.

She is survived by her daughter, Christina (Feather) Black (Springfield); grandson, Tyler Feather (Urbana); granddaughter, Brooke Black (Columbus); son-in-law, Tom Colon (Edgerton); sister, Betty (Donny) Crist; and numerous beloved nieces and nephews.

Sandy was preceded in death by her daughter, Crystal (Feather) Colon; her parents; and her siblings, William Pendleton, Robert Pendleton, Charles Pendleton, Mary Newberry, Margaret Knox, and Dora Young.
