Sandra devoted many years to the Springfield City School District, where she served as a teacher’s aide working with special needs children and also as a bus aide. Her working life also included time at Readmore Store. In every role, she gave of herself in ways that reflected patience, kindness, and a steady willingness to help.

Her life was enriched by the things she loved to do with her hands and heart. Sandra enjoyed crocheting various items, sewing, and creating art and crafts. Faith and community were central to Sandra’s life. She was a member of St. John Missionary Baptist Church, where she shared her time and gifts in many ways. She served as a VBS school teacher, was active in PTA, gave leadership as a Girl Scout Leader, and participated in the minister wives women’s group. She also leaves to treasure her memory her children, Clarence Thomas “Cleavy” (Jocelyn) White, Kelvin E. White, Jacques K. (Amber) White, and Meleila Michelle (Joseph) Carson Jr. She is also survived by her brothers, Charles F. Brown III, Veracis "Racy" Brown, and Victor (Kandi) Brown; her sister, Terece Watkins and sisters in law Doris and Erlene White, nieces, nephews and a host of special friends.

Sandra’s love continues through her grandchildren, Thomas Anthony White, Courtney Denise White, Damien Scales, Sheena Simpson, Zachary P. Gibbs-White, Naya J-L White, Jahvon White, Christopher Bray, Elijah Wilson, Anyla Wilson, Alayla Wilson, E’Shawne Wilson, Jameel Carson, Joseph Carson III, Jason Carson, and Jasmine Carson as well as 15 great-grandchildren. Each of them were part of the family circle she held dear, and her memory will remain a lasting blessing in their lives.
