Sherri Lynn Linton

Sherri Lynn Linton, née Woods, slipped gently from this world on July 20, 2026, in Dayton, Ohio, her memory woven indelibly into the hearts of those who loved her. Born on July 7, 1956, in Springfield, Ohio, Sherri’s seventy years were a tapestry of warmth, strength, and vibrant presence—still echoing in the spaces she filled and the people she touched.

Life for Sherri was always about connection. She nurtured deep and lasting bonds, shaping a family rooted in love and understanding. To her children—Heather (Mark) Linton, Chris Linton, and Tiffany (Barry Harris) Linton—she was a pillar: steady, compassionate, endlessly supportive. Each felt the comfort of her unconditional love, the wisdom of her counsel, and the gentle guidance of her hand.

Her light found new reflection in her grandchildren—Chloe (Dakota) Flaker, Jaxon Neer, Beatrice Watson, Gus Watson, and Eloise Watson—whose laughter and curiosity she cherished deeply. For them, she was the storyteller, the cheerleader, the quiet provider of soft hugs and sweet reassurances. Her legacy will live on in their bright eyes and gentle spirits.

Siblings Mike (Angie) Woods and Tina (Doug) Vannatta shared a lifetime of laughter, memories, and closeness with Sherri, brimming with cherished stories, shared adventures, and enduring support. T

A constellation of nieces, nephews, and extended family also called her beloved, each carrying a piece of her heart and spirit with them.

Sherri’s journey was shaped by her parents, Robert Woods and Anita Miller Woods, who welcomed her with love and have preceded her in death. 

To all who knew her, Sherri Lynn Linton’s presence was both bright and grounding. Her absence leaves an ache, but her memory will not fade. Instead, it will be honored and celebrated this coming Friday, July 24, 2026, at 1:00 PM. Friends and family are invited to gather for a Celebration of Life at Tiffany’s Home, 58 Springbrook Blvd., Urbana, OH, where stories will be shared and love remembered in the home of her daughter—the same kind of place Sherri herself created for so many. Memorial contributions may be made to Jackson Lytle & Lewis to help the family offset expenses. 

As we say goodbye, we also celebrate the profound impact of a life well lived. Sherri’s warmth, her unwavering love and her ability to bring out the best in those she loved remain a living legacy. Though she is no longer with us in body, her spirit continues to guide, comfort, and inspire all who cherish her memory.
