It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of Steven Christopher D’Aurora, lovingly known as Steve, who left us unexpectedly on January 14, 2026, in Springfield, Ohio. Born on June 8, 1964, in Dayton, Ohio, Steve led a quiet life centered around his work and his friends.
For 30 years, Steve was a dedicated employee at Wal‑Mart, where he formed lasting friendships and was known for his steady presence and reliability.
Steve shared 26 years with his partner, Jim Morris, building a life of companionship and mutual support. He was the father of Christopher D’Aurora and the grandfather of Beckett and Declan D’Aurora, who will remember the time they spent with him in their own ways.
Steve was a cherished brother to Dan (Jackie) D'Aurora, Tim (Vana) D'Aurora, and Dave (Sabrina) D'Aurora. Together, they shared a camaraderie built on shared memories and mutual support. He was also a beloved uncle to Christina Conley and numerous other nephews and nieces, who looked up to him with admiration and affection.
Steve maintained a long-standing and meaningful friendship with Polly (John) Ray, the mother of his son, a connection that remained important throughout the years.
Outside of work, Steve had two passions that brought him joy throughout his life: tracking the weather and spending time fishing. Whether following storm patterns or enjoying quiet hours by the water, these hobbies were a steady source of comfort and interest for him.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence Daniel D'Aurora and Cherie Jeanne (Pulaski) D'Aurora, whose love shaped him into the kind-hearted man he became.
As we reflect on Steve's life, we remember a man who dedicated himself wholeheartedly to those he loved, and who left an indelible mark on all who had the privilege to know him. His spirit will always remind us of the treasured moments spent with him.
