Thomas Benjamin Buck, age 79 of Springfield, Ohio passed away January 2, 2026. He was born January 26, 1946 in Cincinnati, Ohio, the son of the late Charles and Pauline (Wiseman) Buck. Tommy is survived by his daughter, Daniele (Aldeen) Sayle and grandson, Ryan Shrewsbury and granddaughter, Rylee Fauber, step-children who were like his own children; Daniel (Karrie) Rosales, Darren Rosales, Tyson Rosales, and Tiffany Rosales and his other grandchildren, Jacob D. Rosales, Javen W. Rosales, Darren Rosales II, Michael Rosales, Amanda Rosales, Brandon James, Courtney Rosales, Kacy Argabright, Tyson Matthew Rosales, Destiny Nicely Jones, Zayne Rosales, Ethan Rosales, Raegan T. Rosales, Jovita Antonio Rosales, and Rainee Rosales, numerous great-grandchildren, siblings; Gary and Chuck (Terry) Buck, sister-in-law, Deloris Buck, and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Sandy (Castle) Buck, brother, Danny Buck, step-grandson, Daniel Rosales, and best friend, Bruce Niles.
Tommy selflessly served in the United States Navy. He served on the USS Gallant MSO-489 as a minesweeper in Vietnam. Following his time in the service, he was employed with the State of Ohio for OSHA until his eventual retirement. Tommy was known for always wearing a suit, being dressed to the nines with his shoes shined. He also had a cameo in the 1967 musical comedy “Easy Come Easy Go” starring Elvis Presley. The bulk of Tommy’s time was spent making his rounds at the VFW, Machinist Club, Union Club, and Dan & Dee’s Cedar Pub to have a drink and spend time with his 2nd family.
On Saturday, January 24, 2026, family and friends are invited to the following memorials:
A short service will be held at 10:00 AM at Ferncliff Cemetery where Tom's cremated remains will be entombed next to his beloved Sandy. In addition, all are welcome to attend a gathering at 12:00 PM at the VFW Post 1031 where military honors will be rendered and memories can be shared. Arrangements entrusted to the Jackson Lytle & Lewis Life Celebration Center, Springfield. Online condolences may be expressed to the family by visiting www.jacksonlytle.com. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the VFW Post 1031 in Tommy’s honor.
