Thomas Donald Roberson

Thomas Donald Roberson, known to many as Tom, passed away peacefully on August 10, 2026, in Tipp City, Ohio, at the age of 85. Born on September 8, 1940, in Churubusco, Indiana, Tom’s life was marked by devotion—to his family, his community, and the values that guided him every day.

Tom was the beloved husband of 64 years to Janice Johnson Roberson. Together they built a deeply rooted family, whose foundation was strengthened by Tom’s enduring love and steadfast presence. He is survived by his children, each of whom relied on his support, wisdom, and love throughout their lives: his children, Carrie (Jim) Henry and Laurie (Eric) Looney, Joel (Holly) Roberson, and Kristina (Louie Morales) Wilson.

Tom took immense pride in his grandchildren: Magen Looney, Aidan Looney, Adam (Courtney) Roberson, Olivia (Jordan) Deeb, Brandon Trammell, Jackson Vacchiano, Landon (Joann) Carter, Evan Wilson, and Coalton Wilson as well as eight great-grandchildren. Tom's influence extended beyond his immediate family to his brother Hank Parton and sister-in-law Sandy Parton, as well as to his cherished nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his adopted father, Paul Roberson, and his siblings Kenneth Allen and Mary Grimes.

He was a man defined by dedication and service. After honorably serving for six years in the Air Force, Tom invested four decades of commitment and hard work into his career before retiring from International (Harvester). His loyalty and determination in the workplace were matched by his steadfastness in his personal pursuits.

Tom’s spirit was animated by his many interests. An avid sports fan, he was equally enthusiastic about collecting antique toys and stamps—a pastime that reflected both his appreciation for nostalgia and his keen eye for detail. He took great pleasure in working on and owning old cars, transforming vehicles with both skill and affection.

A devout man, Tom loved his church and found deep fulfillment in teaching adult Sunday school. His faith was central to his life, and he was often found reading his Bible, drawing strength and solace from its teachings.

Those who knew Tom will remember his stubbornness, a trait that, while sometimes challenging, was also at the heart of his perseverance and determination. He approached every endeavor—whether large or small—with uncompromising resolve.

Family and friends will have the opportunity to gather in remembrance of Tom’s remarkable life at his visitation on August 22, 2026, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at Jackson Lytle and Lewis Life Celebration Center. Following the visitation, a funeral service will begin at 4:00 p.m.

As we mourn Tom’s passing, we also honor and celebrate a life lived with integrity, warmth, and unwavering dedication. His gentle guidance, spirited debates, and steadfast example will continue to inspire all who knew him. His legacy lives on in the hearts and lives of his loving family and friends. Memorial contributions may be made to Tunnels to Towers or Day City Hospice in honor of Tom.
