Tim R. Shirk, a cherished husband, father, and friend, passed away on June 8, 2025, at his home in Springfield, Ohio. Born on January 23, 1949, in Springfield to the late Raymond Shirk and Gertrude Dietrick.
Tim dedicated many years of his career as a CNC operator at Holophane Corporation before retiring. He was known for his technical prowess, always possessing a keen mind capable of fixing almost anything that came his way. He had a deep love for his family, spending countless joyful moments with them throughout his life. Tim held a special passion for car racing, engaging in the sport alongside his son for many years. His other interests included wood carving, playing guitar in his younger days, and listening to southern gospel music.
A devoted Christian, Tim departed to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, leaving behind a legacy of warmth and love. He is survived by his loving wife of 18 years, Elizabeth Kay (Lewis) Shirk. He is also survived by his children: Amy (Mike) Schoneberger, Timmie Shane (Tracy) Shirk, Bryan (Julie) Shirk, Matthew (Schen) Shirk, and step-children Donna "Lori" Hoefer, Scott (Sabrina) Everhart, and Chad Everhart. He will be missed by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews as well as by his sister, Karen Kay (Ted) Oberly.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his sisters Joyce and Loretta.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Tim's life on June 16, 2025, at Jackson Lytle & Lewis Life Celebration Center in Springfield, Ohio. Visitation will take place from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, followed by the funeral service officiated by Dr. Pastor Tim Livingston beginning at 12:00 PM . Entombment at Rose Hill Burial Park.
Tim R. Shirk will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him, and his spirit will remain alive in the hearts of those he touched.
