HUNDREDS OF AMERICAN FLAGS TO STAND IN HONOR OF OUR TROOPS AND VETERANS AND TO SUPPORT THE LOCAL VETERANS GROUPS.
This year Jackson, Lytle & Lewis Life Celebration Center will host the 10th annual Honor Field flag memorial in honor of our service men and women. We owe our service men and women a debt we can never fully repay. This is just a small way for us to show our appreciation for those that have served for our country and our freedom.
Each flag in this Military Honor Field flag memorial represents a million thank yous to our service men and women currently serving and our veterans. Each flag is a visible reminder of the selfless, dedicated service to our Country by military service personnel and the ultimate sacrifice made by these men and women.
From June 6-14, 2018, volunteers and organizers will transform the grassy lawn in front of Jackson, Lytle & Lewis Life Celebration Center into a tribute of red white and blue. The 8 foot tall American flags, paying tribute to our heroes who have fought for the cause of freedom, will help visitors to heal, honor and remember that freedom isn’t free. This incredible and patriotic event is free and hosted by Jackson, Lytle & Lewis Life Celebration Center. The field of red, white and blue is being funded through business sponsors and flag sales. Individuals and businesses can sponsor a flag to honor our service men and women and our country. We have several sponsors on board already including: Lee’s Famous Chicken, Spradlin Brothers Welding, Detmer Heating, Garber Electric, Cedarville University, Clark, Schaefer, Hackett, Oakwood Village, , First Christian Church, McMann,Smmot & Riddle Insurance, Ductz Air Duct Cleaning, Veteran Building Systems, Furst Florist, Dodds Memorials, UAW 402, Kapp Construction, Home Instead, Stuckey Troutwine CPAs, and American Fence.
Funds raised through sponsorships and flag sales will be donated to local veteran organizations to fund Feeding Our Heroes, Local VFW posts and other local veteran causes. Jackson, Lytle & Lewis Life Celebration Center is also accepting retired flags.
New this year we will be opening the Honor Field with a “Lunch with a Veteran” program on June 6th at noon. The event is free but RSVP to 399-2811 is required. This opening ceremony and lunch event will include authentic army vehicles, color guard, patriotic entertainment, a Missing Man Table and explanation of what it is means and an opportunity to get to know and thank local veterans for their service.
