Obituary for Dottie Lee Wade

WADE, Dottie Lee, 80, went to be with the Lord on Monday, January 7, 2019. Dottie was born on October 19, 1938, the daughter of the late James and Peg Pitchford. During Junior High in 1952, she met the Love of her life, Gary Wade and they married on June 13, 1958. Their godly marriage and love for each other was shown through everything they did. In the early 1980’s, Dottie and Gary joined Grace Bible Church. She was an extremely giving person, loved to sew and typically would give away whatever she made. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Along with her husband, Dottie is survived by five children, R. Buck Wade, Lori Shumaker, Wendee (Brian) Smith, Keri Jo (Bruce) Smith and Andy (Courtney) Wade; eighteen grandchildren, Landon (Rebecca) Wade, Jena (Ryan) Wade, Emily (Tyler) Houston, Jordan (Caitlin) Shumaker, Dillan (Kelsey) Shumaker, Rita (Mark) Towne, Heidi Shumaker, Jered Smith, Austin (Jessica) Smith, Lakin (Tyler) Kibler, Owen Smith, Brookelyn, Brock, Karli and Kamyron Smith, Haylee, Greyson and Adrienne Wade; eleven great-grandchildren, Ava, Claire and Nora Wade, Hadlie and Mya Houston, Palmer Wade, Aela, Garner, Judd, Oren and Dempsey Shumaker; and one sister, Mary Beekman. Dottie was the matriarch of the family, always supportive and virtuous in all that she did and was loved by all. Her kindness was unsurpassed and her legacy will live on through all those who knew her. She was joined in heaven by two children, Jay and Dianne; and three sisters, Thelma Betts, Myrtle Peck and Norma Kenny. A celebration of her life will be held on Friday, January 11, 2019 at 12p.m. with visitation two hours prior at Grace Bible Church, 1500 Groop Rd. Springfield. Pastor Marvin Wiseman will be officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Burial Park. Arrangements in care of JACKSON LYTLE & LEWIS LIFE CELEBRATION CENTER.
